A nowhere road in a nowhere county in a nowhere state and a wild J2000 appears. Look at that classic Rhino grille sigh. No one around to ask about buying it.
I almost never spot these. This is maybe my 4th in-the-wild J-series truck.
( Updated to add another FSJ a few miles away. Couldn’t get a better photo without much more blatant trespassing.)
Some context for just how remote it is

I dream of someday having the time to go explore like this and just see what cars I find in the middle of nowhere. Like, a “cars of way out there” series. Make it like those supercar spotting shows, but totally outdoorsy and rural instead.
Would Oppos subscribe to such a channel, if it existed?

Did you take a picture of the VIN? At least with that information you could possibly track down the last owner, its title and/or last registration.

Looks like the tires still have air.

I would, but I believe that idea has already been serialized.

That’s a lot more interesting than that manual whatever-whatever we were chasing round two months ago.

Rhino grilles are a rare spot indeed.

Even something like this J Series I spotted a while ago is extremely uncommon.

That Jeep is just out standing in its field

Then it should win a prize

Th at is one field in which it is outstanding. Outstanding standing!

That is gorgeous.

Truth be told... they just didn’t sell all that well. And, like the Oldsmobiles of my yoot, weren’t really viewed as “vehicles to keep”.
so, yeah, they are a rarity in any condition. I had an uncle with the Jeepster of slightly older vintage-- and I never see those around either. Same issue, I’d think.

It’s impractical for me to buy it at any price . Mainly I just wanted to chat with the owner.

Yeah, I’m betting it’s still being used.

Oh, I figured as much, but it would still offer the chance to talk with the owner
